The Tours organised by Carl for St. Christopher’s C.C.C. after the Second World War were to introduce inexperienced cyclists into “continental” touring. Accommodation was for the most part provided by welcoming hoteliers.
The group met at Victoria Station and proceeded by rail to Basel where cycling commenced.
Route:
Basel, Schaufhausen, Rheinfall, Rhine Falls, Oberburen, Wildhaus, Sargans, Davos, Via Mala, Reichenau, Flims, Llanz, Dissentis, Oberalppass 2044 ms, Andermatt, Rhone Glacier, Reichenbach Falls , Thunn See, Thun, Berne, train to Basel and return by rail to Birmingham.
